Dear Parent / Guardian:
The VECC serves well-balanced breakfasts and lunches daily for students who choose to buy their meals. We are always working to offer our students healthier and tastier choices. School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families too! The Food Service Department sends home menus monthly and the menus are also posted on the school website. For the 2017 – 2018 school year, meal prices are as follows:
|Full Pay Lunch
|Reduced Pay Lunch.. if eligible
|Full Pay Breakfast
|Reduced Pay Breakfast.. if eligible
|Milk (purchased separately)
|Special Milk (PK)
The Cafeteria is a pay-as-you-go facility and charging is a privilege offered to those students who forget their money or lunch. Parents may put money, in advance, on their student’s meal account. This can be done by cash or check. Checks are to be made payable to Lunch and Milk.
Children from low income families may be eligible to receive reduced price or free meals. Applications are sent home at the beginning of the school year or you may print and return to the Cafeteria the Application posted on the school website. If at any time during the school year your income decreases or household size increases, you may reapply.
Snacks and beverages that are sold in the Cafeteria Snack Bar meet the new nutritional guidelines. Snacks may contain peanut oil as an ingredient. They also may have been processed on machines with traces of peanut oil from previous runs.
The school meal program at the VECC is dedicated to supplying healthy and nutritious meals to your children. Our goal is to treat our “customers” with respect and to provide a positive experience for meal time. We look forward to welcoming your children to the Cafeteria this Fall.
